This study will focus on the rigid geometric structure of the windmill against the wild, colorful sunset sky.

I painted this abandoned home in Waxahachie years ago and still enjoy looking at the contrasting angles and values.  We will focus on the strong linear qualities of this piece as well as the rich textures and contrasting warm and cool neutral colors in the aged siding of the house.

With this image, we will use a photograph instead of one of my watercolor reproductions.  The bright red of the diesel engine will pop beautifully against the complementary green of the tree behind it.  The intricate details on the locomotive are also a delightful accent.  Trains are among my favorite subjects to teach in watercolor.
